Al Torres is a global leader who creates a performance focused and inclusive culture. He is currently Vice President - Talent Management & Diversity for Verizon Telecom & Business. In this role, he is responsible for leading and executing on global talent management strategies focused on the acquisition, training and development of current and future leaders, as well as for global diversity strategies, domestically and internationally. He is a high performing HR executive with a sustainable track record for implementing large scale culture change, global diversity and cost savings & expense management in the telecommunications industry.
Torres has received numerous awards and recognition, most notably, the Eagle Leadership Award presented by the National Eagle Leadership Institute. In 2009, he was named one of the Top 100 Leaders Under 50 by Diversity MBA magazine.
Torres is on the Board of Directors for El Repertorio Español, New York City’s premier Spanish Language Theater Company and a member of the Talent Acquisition Council of The Conference Board.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the William E. Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester.
